Several years ago, nearby Frederick created a river walk-type park alongside Carroll Creek as part of a flood plan and to provide commercial, residential, cultural, and recreational development for the city (which, by the way, is the second largest in Maryland.) We had a beautiful break-from-the-heat kind of day today, so on the way home from a doctor's appointment, we stopped for some pictures and took a stroll along the promenade.

Oh my, what a gorgeous spot and the photo is just terrific! I wish we'd get a break from the heat - we hit a record yesterday and it topped out at 106. Needless to say, I'm tired of summer! This looks refreshing and so pretty though, thanks for sharing with us Marianne :)

No break from the heat here; in fact, we're having almost record-breaking heat, which says a lot for August in Phoenix.
