Day 306 - More fall colors

This past week of chill has really brought out the colors and today the weather was just glorious, so we took off again looking for more fall eye-candy. This little pretty lives right up the street from us.

Back in Cunningham Falls State Park, we found a spot where we were able to get down closer to Hunting Creek.

On the way back home we stopped near Buckeystown to enjoy the scenic Monocacy River.

Day 92 - Bridges and bathrooms

Taking advantage of a gorgeous spring day without rain, we went for a drive and ended up at the Roddy Covered Bridge spanning Owens Creek in Thurmont, MD. Built in the 1850s, it's one of the six surviving historic covered bridges in Maryland, three of which are here in Frederick County.

On the way home from the cherry blossoms on Saturday, Lew had me snap this photo to send to his friend, Bobby. The name itself was cute and funny, but I had a hard time wrapping my brain around a wheelchair accessible port-a-potty... I think I'd rather pee my pants!

Day 80 - A Patch of Green

On this first day of spring, we went for a drive on an old country road and discovered a creek running alongside. As we stopped to take a few photos, I spotted this bright green mossy rock just begging to be my subject for the day. :)

I also have a couple of Easter-related photos on my regular blog.

Day #226 - Creekside...

Several years ago, nearby Frederick created a river walk-type park alongside Carroll Creek as part of a flood plan and to provide commercial, residential, cultural, and recreational development for the city (which, by the way, is the second largest in Maryland.) We had a beautiful break-from-the-heat kind of day today, so on the way home from a doctor's appointment, we stopped for some pictures and took a stroll along the promenade.

Day #81 - Up the creek...

A more peaceful view of Israel Creek in its normal, unswollen state as it flows laconically through the surrounding farmland.
