Day #155 - Purple and green...

We're really pleased with the performance of our purple lady this year. It still has beaucoup buds and some of the flowers, I swear, are almost as big as saucers. Spectacular display!

I really don't do anything special with them - water them, keep the roots protected with perennial snow on the mountain ground cover, and cut them way back around November. They don't even get fed as often as they should. Just lucky, I guess.

Gorgeous, just gorgeous Marianne! I love the purple ones. They love a good mix of sun and shade. Ours does pretty well and I never even fertilize it or put Miracle Gro on it. We learned after the first year to cut it back good. They are happy to come back stronger than ever.

Oh, those are stunning! I think this is my favorite growing thing you've photographed so far. Now what are they called? Purple ladies?

I love the combination of purple and green. They happen to my kids' school colors, but they look so beautiful when they are deep and rich like your plant.

Gorgeous.

Very nice! We are hoping to grow our morning glories over our mailbox. So far, we haven't! Love the purple. :-)
