Day #68 - My Blue Period - 5

My faithful and trusty ol' bowling ball... battle-scarred and all of 10 lbs heavy! In spite of its scant weight, it served me well for over 20 years of league and personal bowling. It lives in the basement now, collecting dust, but oh, the Wednesday night memories it holds! I miss it.

That's so cool! I have my son in a league, he loves to bowl. My husband's grandmother can out bowl just about everyone in our family, except my husband. He missed a 300 by one strike. Then he just gave up! Weds night do hold some great memories!Love the color of your bowling ball, and you just gave me an idea!

Great picture!

You're going to throw things at me, Marianne, but I'll duck. I've only been bowling once. And that was just a couple of years ago. It was fun though, but I am definitely not any good! :)

I'm thoroughly enjoying your blue period. I'm thinking seriously of swiping your idea soon! Hope that is ok!

I used to be an avid bowler (long, LONG time ago); had a 156 average.

My ball was garnet red like my birth stone.

Sigh.

I couldn't bowl to save my life, but all of a sudden I want a bowling ball -- just like that one. *g*

That photo sure brings back memories! Oh, how I used to love to bowl! But it's been many, many years now. I think you've given me an idea for our next family outing!

I have not been bowling in a while, but when I do, I also go for the 10 lb. balls! I haven't had one of my own. I took bowling as a class in college with my then-boyfriend, now-husband. He'd drive by my dorm and we'd fly off to the bowling alley for a 10 a.m. class.I've never been too good, but it is fun!

Good for Grandma - keeps her young. ;) Wow, a 300, something I never came close to.

Stacy -
Heck, you don't have to be "good" you just have to have fun!

Songbird -
I carried about a 150 average towards the end of my bowling days.

Southern Girl -
You cracked me up - it would make a good doorstop! :D

Debi -
It'll be a great family activity - have fun! ;)

Jenny -

lol, I always got made fun of by the guys because my ball was so light, but hey, it worked for me! Nice to know I'm not the only one!

Glad this blue theme has given some of you ideas. Learning more about photography and sharing our ideas... that's what this is all about, right? Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Neat picture! I haven't been bowling in years, and I don't know why, because it's really fun, (even though I'm no good at it!)
