New leaf buds covering the bushes and trees show us that spring is here and a welcome sight it is! The dark area you see inside this bud is an itty bitty lilac flower getting fat and ready to burst into fragrant delight in about a month or so.

Lucky you to have lilac in your garden. A fabulous picture - can't wait to see a picture of them in bloom.
It is snowing here in SW WA right now which is unheard of. I'd welcome more signs of spring!!
