He's the only guy I know who would decide to interrupt his Father's Day relaxation to go out and cut the grass at 7:30 pm... when the light was rapidly declining... on an otherwise beautifully cool day. Go figure, huh? ;)
With spring sunshine and April showers comes the seasonal ritual of mowing the rapidly growing grass. Having finished the front yard, the 'gardener' (aka Lew) took a break before continuing the job in the back.
Cold and windy April showers were the order of the day, so the patio door was the extent of my outdoor ventures. This pool of water made a nice mirror.
The peaceful spring scene I see from the back of our house. I'm thinking the cows are enjoying being able to munch on tender new grass for a change instead of a steady diet of winter hay.
The leaves are starting to fall in earnest now and in an effort to stay a little ahead of the task of raking them all up, Lew lets the mower do some of the work.
Amazingly, the grass isn't brown and crunchy yet, an unusual occurence around these parts this time of year. A few well-timed thunderstorms in the past month or so have rewarded us with the green stuff.
He's been busy, busy, busy in the yard recently and today was no exception. After mowing the lawn and edging around the walks and patio, a little trimming was in order too.
This was a fun one to take! Laying in the grass with the delicious smell of new-mown grass all around?? Fun stuff! Makes up for my frustration of yesterday! :D
