Day #299 - Dr. Daughter...

We spent the most delightful afternoon with Ginny, who we haven't seen for waaaay too long. She was attending a medical conference in VA, and we met up with her at Dulles Airport for lunch and a few hour visit before she had to fly back to Texas. A really fun way to beat a miserably rainy day!

Day #218 - Foreign objects...

A couple of the souvenirs (shot glass, keyring) my stepdaughter brought back when she returned from duty in Iraq. They've been sitting by the phone in the kitchen for about 3 years... I think it's time to find them a permanent spot, yes? lol :D

Day #135 - Operation Iraqi Freedom...

In 2004, Dr. Daughter, who is a vascular surgeon in the U.S. Army, served a year in Iraq. She kept a journal of her experiences while she was there, and gave us a copy when she returned. Extremely powerful reading. Today we got a CD of the photographic version, along with a warning regarding its graphic content. She also sent photos of a recent cruise she treated the family to. I'm looking forward to the cruise photos, since we weren't able to make it, but I'm thinking I might hold off a bit on the Iraqi photos... at least until my dinner digests.
