Day #116 - Tomato Time...

For no other reason than that it was pretty... and it was there.

Lew is a tomato man; he loves his "mater" sandwiches and sliced tomatoes with dinner. I, on the other hand, not so much. I like the juice, like the soup, like the sauce... just not crazy about the solid form. I'm getting better - love salsa - but not happy about chunks of the stuff in my soups or sauces. Go figure, huh?

I used to eat cherry tomatoes like grapes and regular tomatoes like apples. I don't do that anymore (well sometimes the cherry tomatoes...lol), but my daughter loves them. She takes after me since my hubby can't stand them unless they are in a sauce or salsa...lol!

I like me a good slice of tomato on a bacon sandwich, or even better, a fried baloney sandwich! Otherwise, I prefer them mostly in sauces or diced very small. If the tomato is at all in slimey form, I will not touch it. ;)

Beautiful photo though, no matter my feelings on the subject. hee!

Yum! What a pretty tomato indeed! I love tomatoes, but the ones I get here are garbage. Yuck.

I miss me some farm grown, vine-ripened, really sweet tomatoes.

Great picture!

Marianne, you and I are just alike. I grew up with parents who grew tomatoes, and they thought a great summertime supper was a 'mater sandwich. Me, I won't touch them like that. Only later in life have I learned to eat tomato products (ketchup, spaghetti sauce, salsa and even pureed tomato soup, just can't have any bits or chunks). I have to order all sandwiches, burgers, salads, etc out in restaurants with no tomato. :)
