Day 318 - Light and shadows

The soft shadows cast and the glisten of reflected light off this stein brightened up an otherwise drab, dreary, and sunless day.

Day 244 - Peach shadow

After freezing another peck of peaches, I fooled around with light and shadows with the leftover one that Lew wants on his breakfast tomorrow. :)

Day 138 - Afternoon sun

After being treated with water seal, the bench gave up its storage spot in the garage and made its way out to the patio for the summer. I liked the way the late afternoon sun hit it and the shadows it cast .

Day 41 - Love Me, Love Me Knot

Definition: Love Knot

noun

1. A stylized knot used as an emblem of love.

With Valentine's Day coming, a fitting photo to start and end a week - shadow and all.

Day 40 - A box of shadows

Having given up on natural shadow-making sunlight, I settled for indoor lighting on my shadow (get it? shadow? lol)-box collection of Siamese kitties.

(And, of course, you knooow the sun was shining it's fool head off while I was messing around with this photo, don'tcha?? Arrggh!)

Day 39 - Fickle sun

Now you see it...
... now you don't
(in the time it took to focus & click the button!)

And that's been my doings with the elusive Mr. Sun this week. So, I give up, the sun wins, and I'm gonna take pictures of my cat... or anything else instead of chasing shadows that aren't there. *sigh*

Day 38 - Seedy & spent

Still sans sunshine of any appreciable amount today, I managed a quick shadow shot of this spent flower stem during a brief appearance.

Day 37 - Fleeting shadow

With the sun being a totally uncooperative participant by not putting in an appearance at all for the past two days, it wasn't looking good for an outdoor shadow photo any time soon. Then, just to tease, it stuck it's head out for all of about a 1/2 hour this evening, so I got a quick shot of the only shadow remotely worth snapping... our lampost on our maple tree. Spectacularly exciting, eh?

Day 36 - Reflections in a Glass -Eye-

While fooling around trying to get a cool shadow, I ended up getting some really cool reflections too. If you enlarge the photos and look closely, you can see reflections of the glass in the base of the glass.

I really like the flower petal shadow/reflection effect from the stones.

Day 35 - Shadows of Amber

This week's theme is "shadows" and should be lots of fun. In between our intermittent and uncooperative splashes of sunlight, I was going to photograph one of our glass doo-dads, when Lew put these in front of me instead. The resulting translucent shadows were fascinating...

Day #239 - Shadow image...

I liked the shadow the hose reel made...
