I've wanted an enameled cast iron dutch oven for years but refused to pay the exorbitant prices these things fetch. After finding a good deal on a Lodge pot on Amazon, I finally broke down and bought one. It arrived today and became a pretty good mineral camera subject.

Good for you Marianne! I've wanted one also but have passed for the same reason. Is that a red tea pot in the background?

Ooooh, so pretty! I'm with you, both on price and just how heavy the darn things are. I got rid of my big cast iron skillet a few years ago when I got a set of nonstick Calphalon, but I have been wishing lately I had it back. I've looked at these enameled things in dutch ovens/pots and also in grill pans and skillets, but they are usually pricey and so heavy. My Sam's Club has one right now in red, for about 38 bucks, their brand and I've been going back and forth on getting it. My other issue is space to put it in the cabinet! I love your red one though, enjoy!
Very nice!!! And I'm sure the moths are happy!!!!!
