Day 151 - Have a seat

Lew moved the chairs from the deck while he worked on it. I thought their random placement in the dappled sunlight looked inviting and ready for a group of friends to visit for a spell over a glass of lemonade.

Day 138 - Afternoon sun

After being treated with water seal, the bench gave up its storage spot in the garage and made its way out to the patio for the summer. I liked the way the late afternoon sun hit it and the shadows it cast .

Day 65 - Spring threesome

Yes!! We're finally having a beautiful sunshiny day today and lo and behold, we also have some concrete evidence of spring. The crocus under the cherry tree are opening and I even found a group of three for our theme - I just love when nature cooperates!

Day 60 - Sun time

Now I know y'all are probably wondering "what the heck is she doing with a sundial in the house!?" Well, I'll tell ya - it's colder than cold out there, even windier than that, and I wasn't about to get all bundled up, get the sundial set up just right, and then have the sun go back behind the clouds like it's been doing all day, while I sat there freezing my tush off waiting for it to come back out!

Soooo, still wanting to show another example of time and not having a better idea, I waited and took it inside instead, and stayed warm in the process. And look, it even has leapy-type frogs on it for Leap Year Day! LOL :D

Day 39 - Fickle sun

And that's been my doings with the elusive Mr. Sun this week. So, I give up, the sun wins, and I'm gonna take pictures of my cat... or anything else instead of chasing shadows that aren't there. *sigh*

Day 25 - Gem Drop

My eye was drawn to the bright colors of the stones and bits of glass in this kaleidoscope as the afternoon sunlight filtered into our living room.

Day 19 - Faded glory

What a difference 11 months makes! I took the top photo on 2/24/07 while we were stopped for a traffic light in front of an antique shop in Frederick. I took the bottom photo today.

Exposure to the sun and elements has clearly taken a toll on these traditional bright red oriental lanterns.

Day 9 - Nothing there

Not a flake to be seen anywhere. Since you can't shovel sunshine, it looks like our standard winter snow equipment will stay in the garage for awhile.

I was struck by the sun bouncing off the gold rim of these glasses this morning and tried to capture the moment. I failed miserably but it's still an interesting picture.
