After 40-some years, I suppose it was time to get a new ice bag. The old one (on the right with the neat rubber seal and metal-threaded top) has definitely served us well (especially these past couple of weeks.) Apparently, it has sprung a leak, making replacement necessary. I seriously doubt the new one, with its all-plastic fittings, will last anywhere near as long.

Day 53 - Pill popping
As the insurance company screws around at my expense and withholds approval for an MRI so my doctor knows what to treat, I've been popping one of these painkillers every 6 hours for a little relief from my really hurting leg. Not my best effort but, hey, it's only Day 53 - I've still got the rest of the year! ;)Monday, October 15, 2007

Day #84 - Fever and headache...
This combination oral/anal thermometer has seen its share of mouths... and tiny hineys. Included in the Welcome to Baby gift bag when my son was born almost 44 years ago, it has served us well through kids, grandkids and us big guys too. Still works just fine and has been getting a workout these past couple of weeks. (yes, it gets thoroughly washed and disinfected!) ;)

Day #83 - Movietime...
This is the best I could come up with today. Had great plans of getting out of the house and taking some nice outdoor photos but the Gods must be angry with me or something. This flu thing apparently enjoyed my "hospitality" and has hunkered in for an extended stay. So, instead of being out in the fresh air, I'm laying around, feeling lousy, drinking fluids until I float, and watching movies... again. Maybe tomorrow.Sunday, March 18, 2007
Day #77 - From Where I Sit...
Many thanks...
I'll be posting today's photo later, but wanted to thank you all so much for your well wishes and prayers. I'm starting to feel half-way human again instead of like last year's road-kill. Still plagued by miserable head pain, but 600 mg of Ibuprofen manages to lessen it for awhile... hopefully it will go away soon.
Thanks again - you guys are the greatest! :)

Day #74 - Testing, 1, 2, 3...
I am soooo sick. I seem to have acquired some kind of flu virus that has literally knocked me on my arse. Fever, weakness, aches, pains - the whole bit. Hit me like a train last night. Coincidentally, I already had a scheduled appointment with my lung doctor this afternoon and it took every bit of energy I had just to get ready to go. So, all I could muster for today's photo is this fingertip oxygen level/heart rate test. Good news on that score - oxygen level was 96.He ordered me to bed with the usual instructions... lots of rest, lots of fluids, let it run its course, yada, yada, yada.
Wonderful. I still feel like crap. :-p

Day #24 - Through the looking glass
I've always liked this unique stained glass window at my dentist's office. Hopefully today's repair takes and I won't have to see it again for another 6 months though. One of the tips on Project 365 is that we should include a photo of ourselves at least once a month to see how we change over the year... does my reflection count? LOL!
Here's a traditional one - with the beastie behind me. (it's hard taking a picture of myself - my arms aren't long enough!)Monday, January 22, 2007
