Day 357 - As he dreams by the fire...

Nothing epitomizes domestic tranquility more than a cat warming itself in front of a cozy fire. As the temperatures dip down into the teens, we lit our first of the season tonight.

Day #309 - Feeling the heat...

You know it's a slow day when all I can come up with for a picture is a space heater! *sigh*

Now that the weather is turning chilly, I've acquired a new best friend in this little treasure I found at Target. It has variable heat settings ranging from 60-80 degrees and two speeds. I usually have it on low 60-65 and it puts out more than enough heat to keep me comfy. It's uber quiet and
the front changes color so you know it's heating. Oh, and it also oscillates. Great little heater - I am pleased.

Day #301 - Rack o' wood...

After twenty-some years, our old wood rack finally rusted away so Lew got a new one this season and started filling it today. A frost is predicted for tonight so we might be needing us a toasty warm fire real soon.

Day #127 - Welcome home...

Yay! Our re-covered chairs came back today!

I also posted this on my regular blog so won't repeat it all here but suffice it to say, I am soooooo pleased! Let's hope The Man feels the same way. Whaddaya think?

Day #37 - Baby, it's cold outside

Holy ice cubes, Batman!! It's flippin' frigid out there! Like much of the rest of the country, we're experiencing some of the coldest temps we've had in over a decade. Our thermometer read 9 (!) degrees last night, which is pretty darn cold for this area, and it's well on its way for more of the same tonight.

So, rather than turn the heat up a few more degress, we put our nifty quartz heater into service. It does a very nice job of chasing the chilly cold spots away with a lot less energy.
