Day 195 - Stormy weather

On an otherwise pleasant and sunny day, the skies suddenly turned dark and ominous and that humongous black cloud mass proceeded to empty itself of its load of water. We lost power instantaneously but rain in July is always welcome - it's good for the grass. ;)

Day 194 - uhmmm... blue

This is as good as it got today... blue (bloo), n., 1. the pure color of a clear sky; azure; the hue between green and violet in the spectrum... etc., etc., etc. ;)

Day 193 - Floating bow

When I wondered out loud what I could take a picture of, Lew said "how about blue bows" and handed me a box of them. So, here 'tis.

Day 192 - Baby bug

Out in the back yard to take a picture for another project, I came across this little critter crawling up the door frame as I was about to come in. It's a baby, only about 3/4" long, and only hung around long enough for me to get one macro close-up before it disappeared while I was trying to focus for a closer shot. I musta skeered it. :)

Day 191 - Jaybird

At a loss for a photo for today, this feathered pretty did me a favor when it landed on the bench, right in my line of sight. As luck would have it, it was the blue one instead of the red one. What could I do? Just had to take the picture, right? ;)

Day 190 - Kitchen anomaly

The blue dishcloth sticks out like a sore thumb in my red and white kitchen, but that way we always know where it's at! ;)

Day 189 - Garden glass

I'd rather be taking pictures of sweet grandbabies, but they went home yesterday. So, this is a totally lazy shot, but it's blue for this week's theme.

Day 188 - Someone's in the kitchen...

Don't know what it is about kitchen utensils and pots/pans that fascinates the little ones, but playing in and exploring mommaw's kitchen cabinets has always entertained them. Winston had a go at it this morning before they left.

Day 187 - The chaser gets caught

After going 'round and 'round the tree playing chase with his dad, Winston gets caught in a squealing 'gotcha'!

Day 186 - Little patriot

My flag waving grandbaby...

... getting into the spirit of the 4th!

We have Baby Winston, Mom Susan, and Dad Lawrence here for the holiday weekend so we're having fun visiting (instead of blogging!) We introduced him to this riding toy - a favorite of the grands - I think he likes it! ;)

Day 185 - Teensy-weensy visitor

Look, look!! Look what I caught with my camera! Oh my gosh, I was soooo excited! I was sitting at my desk when I saw this little bits and quick got some shots through the patio door. This was the best one, glare and all.

Day 184 - Heaps of hay

The farmer has been busy this past week harvesting and baling (see Lew's Pics) the wheat field. Before baling, it gets piled into these neat rows so the baler can pick it up.

Day 183 - Patriotic theme

Doing our part to help celebrate the 4th, these red, white, and blue banners have recently begun to appear on the main street through our town.
